The Mission:
The Manager Software Quality Assurance & Test Automation plays a vital role in ensuring a consistent quality of SW delivery. The Manager Software Quality Assurance & Test Automation’s ultimate goal is to deliver high-quality software efficiently. They shift the focus from "finding bugs" to "preventing bugs" by building robust processes, leveraging automation, and fostering a quality-first culture across the entire development team.
Your Responsibilities:
- Test Strategy Development: Develop, implement, and continuously improve intelligent and automated test strategies.
- Strategic Coordination: Take responsibility for and coordinate test strategies within the Application Software domain.
- Team Leadership: Provide line and functional leadership of an agile, interdisciplinary Software Quality Assurance Team.
- Automation Advancement: Drive test automation forward to enhance the scalability, efficiency, and quality of verification processes.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with development teams, Product Owners (POs), and DevOps Engineers.
- Feedback Mechanisms: Establish data-driven feedback loops.
- Process Optimization: Introduce new initiatives and further develop processes, methods, and tools in alignment with test strategies.
Your Profile:
- Education: Completed university degree (Master/Diploma or Bachelor) in Computer Science, Automation Engineering, or a related field; or a completed vocational training with corresponding extensive professional experience.
- Professional Experience: 5–10 years of professional experience in software development or quality assurance, ideally as a Software Test Engineer or Test Lead.
- Leadership Experience: Proven line management experience (Team Lead)ability to provide technical guidance and motivate team members.
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong technical expertise in Software Quality Assurance with a heavy focus on UI test automation.
- Know-how in JavaScript (ES6+), Playwright for web UI automation, DOM manipulation, CSS/XPath selectors, and handling dynamic React UI elements and Shadow DOM.
- Experience integrating Playwright automated UI suites into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with web architectures (.NET back-ends) to effectively trace UI issues to integration points.
- Strong technical experience testing complex React-based front-end applications.
- Excellent knowledge of Jira for defect tracking, sprint planning, and test management.
- Methodological Competence: In-depth knowledge of agile methods (SCRUM, Kanban) as well as DevOps practices and modern QA best practices.
- Language Skills: Fluent German and English skills in both written and spoken communication.
