System Support Specialist

SUMMARY:
Please note this position requires fully on-site support in North York with a mandatory schedule of 6am – 2:30pm Monday to Friday. Remote opportunities are not available for this position.
We're seeking an experienced System Support Specialist to oversee daily operations, manage client relationships, and ensure the smooth running of our IT systems. The ideal candidate will have a technical background, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage daily operations, including IT systems, client relationships, and project management.
- Ensure zero downtime of production and test systems.
- Provide customized reporting for clients.
- Assist client staff with technical issues.
- Manage support requests, file and manage documentation.
- Provide IT-related environment information to suppliers.
- Ensure customer program integrity and data security.
RESPONSIBILITIES (CONTINUED):
- Perform backups, manage virtual machines, and replace hardware components as needed.
- Liaise with internal and external suppliers to troubleshoot and rectify IT issues.
- Train client staff on IT appliances and software.
- Manage consumables and supplies.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients.
- Maintain up-to-date operational reports and lists.
- Perform other duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Diploma or degree in Information technology or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of experience in IT systems administration
- Proficient in IT systems, including virtualization, storage, networking, and database administration.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, Expertise in dealing with people effectively and politely.
- Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel periodically within North America.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS BUT NOT REQUIRED:
- Technical education in IT systems administration, electronics, electrical, radar, laser, or photo
- Experience with project management, contract administration, and IT project deployment.
