Senior Machinist

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):
- Operate manual machining equipment, including set-up, adjustment, and tool change to produce parts of moderate to high complexity meeting documented specifications.
- Operate CNC machining equipment, including lathes. set-up, adjustment, and tool change to produce parts of moderate to high complexity meeting documented specifications.
- Perform dimensional measurements to ensure compliance with manufacturing specifications.
- Create, edit and verify conversational programming on CNC machines.
- Create, edit and verify Mastercam programming for CNC mill and lathe from 3D solid model (CAD) files.
RESPONSIBILITIES (CONTINUED):
- Prepare tooling and/or fixtures for machined parts with multiple setups.
- Use appropriate hand tools to measure and verify dimensions of machined parts (in-process and final).
- Train other machinists as requested, and assist in diagnosing & resolving technical problems during machining processes.
- Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and organized manner.
- Comply with company policies and procedures including those relating to safety and quality.
- Provides leadership and guidance to other departments to resolve technical and operational problems.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year-college or technical school is preferred; or combination of education and experience.
- 5 years experience in all aspects of operating manual and CNC equipment (mill and lathe).
- 2 years experience or education using Mastercam for CNC mill and lathe from 3D solid model (CAD) files.
- Ability to interpret technical instructions and adhere to documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
