Senior Machinist

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):

• Operate manual machining equipment, including set-up, adjustment, and tool change to produce parts of moderate to high complexity meeting documented specifications.
• Operate CNC machining equipment, including lathes. set-up, adjustment, and tool change to produce parts of moderate to high complexity meeting documented specifications.
• Perform dimensional measurements to ensure compliance with manufacturing specifications.     
• Create, edit and verify conversational programming on CNC machines.
• Create, edit and verify Mastercam programming for CNC mill and lathe from 3D solid model (CAD) files.

RESPONSIBILITIES (CONTINUED):

• Prepare tooling and/or fixtures for machined parts with multiple setups.   
• Use appropriate hand tools to measure and verify dimensions of machined parts (in-process and final).
• Train other machinists as requested, and assist in diagnosing & resolving technical problems during machining processes.
• Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and organized manner.      
• Comply with company policies and procedures including those relating to safety and quality.        
• Provides leadership and guidance to other departments to resolve technical and operational problems.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma or GED.
• Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year-college or technical school is preferred; or combination of education and experience.     
• 5 years experience in all aspects of operating manual and CNC equipment (mill and lathe).
• 2 years experience or education using Mastercam for CNC mill and lathe from 3D solid model (CAD) files.
• Ability to interpret technical instructions and adhere to documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
