Senior Assembly Technician

OVERVIEW:
Very High level of skills acquired for assemble intricate optical-mechanical assemblies using high precision instruments and alignment software.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):
- Very highly skilled understanding and use of alignment station software to assemble complete systems with precision decenter, TIR, and airspace requirements within 5 microns as required.
- Ability to perform repeatable precision measurements using height stand and drop indicator for elements and air spaces to accuracy of less than 3 microns.
- Ability to cement doublets and triplets to accuracy of 5 microns as required.
- Mark-up drawings to document drawing errors or key changes in process and submit to manager for Engineering Change.
- Ability to assess that elements being installed meet drawing specifications for surface quality.
- Ability to perform complex dis-assemblies for troubleshooting and rework.
- Recognize and recommend the need to make/modify tooling or fixtures to improve accuracy or efficiency.
- Assist other assembly technicians with jobs in process on technical issues.
- Ability to train others to acquire specific assembly skills, or to assemble specific jobs (as assigned).
- Assist other assembly technicians with jobs in process on technical issues.
- Skilled knowledge and experience using various bonding compounds.
- Proficient use of Excel to record data into build sheets for engineering recomp.
- Reporting departmental KPI’s and keeping track of consumables for both general assembly as well as cleanrooms.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, some college preferred
- Must be proficient using Word, Excel, Outlook, and other specialty software used in a lab environment.
- Able to Read/Write English
- Very good interpersonal and communications skills both written and oral.
- Ability to work with all team members in the department and the company wide
- Able to prioritize work assignments.
- Able to multi-task.
- Attention to detail.
- Standard Vision Test is required
