PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES )INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
- Take ownership of and drive application support, design and implementation
- Work closely with functional lead to manage various projects as needed
- Draft complete functional specifications, based on business requirements, related to new and existing business processes and/or in support of production support matters
- Participate in meetings with business users at all levels of the global organization (from senior management to transactional users) to understand, guide and propose effective system solutions as part of requirement gathering, while striving to work within best practices guidelines
- Responsible for delivery of an integrated, quality technology platform that supports evolving business requirements
- Documentation of configuration, design, testing and implementation elements, allowing easy support and knowledge transfer
- Direct day-to-day functional support of SAP issues; this requires coordination with other SAP module resources and/or customers to resolve
PRIMARY RESPONSBILITIES (CONTINUED)
- Leverage each support call as an opportunity to train the user on how to more effectively utilize SAP, while documenting common issues in support of developing knowledge based articles
- Produce measure and report production Key performance indicators (KPI's)
- Provide production support for SAP SD/MM/PP/QM modules, by utilizing troubleshooting skills
- Facilitate Key User collaboration in logistics modules, working with business processes, communicating within region for potential improvements within global template
- Support process design and process definition; therefore resulting in customized solutions
- Endorsement of technical change management; i.e. implementing future solutions
- Active roll-out support, of a global template, on an international level
- Review and recommend process revisions based on needs and best practices
- Comply with departmental standards, meet SLA’s, and accomplish reporting and documentation requirements
- Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Performs all other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- BS degree in Computer Science, mathematics or related field of study; Master’s degree preferred
- 10+ years of relevant work experience
- Expert level knowledge and hands on experience in at least one of the following modules: SAP Sales and Distribution SD or Material Management MM (Required)
- Proficiency in developing a strong understanding of varied business processes across a diverse organizational structure in logistics
- Ability to think “outside the box” when dealing with production issues and new requirements, as well as, anticipate future issues independent of the immediate needs expressed
- Competence participating in requirement gathering sessions, over the phone, directing and channeling discussions as if being face to face
- Hands on configuration expertise that relies on core SAP functionality, such as transports and admin
- Solid understanding of integration touch points within other SAP modules
- Hands-on configuration experience within the last 6 months
- Exhibit excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Superb analytical, adaptability, problem-solving, decision-making and continuous process improvement skills
- Must possess “soft skills”: conflict resolution and negotiation, personal effectiveness, creative problem solving, strategic thinking, team building, and influencing skills
- Expertise in dealing with people effectively and politely
