Long Description

The Head of Operations, JOSI-FL provides leadership to the operations teams to achieve the highest levels of quality, yields, reproducibility, and unit productivity through continual process improvement techniques and by enhancing the skills of each team member.

 

The Head of Operations directs the Jupiter site toward its primary objectives, based on maximizing revenue, profit and growth.   He/she will be responsible for business drivers such as improvement in product; improved efficiency; and attracting, developing, and retaining top talent. 

Long Description

  • Direct the manufacturing operations, production, assembly, system testing, production planning, and supply chain management.  Work closely with purchasing, quality, engineering, finance and facility.
  • Help develop the strategic plan, budget, and vision for the manufacturing and operations.
  • Develop annual and 5-year CAPEX plan in alignment with the technology roadmap and operation needs.  Initiate CAPEX business cases, aligning with corporate controlling and global technology, for submission to and approval by senior management.
  • Participate in best practice initiatives as established by global operations.   
  • Create alignment and accountability: establish clear key performance indicators (KPI’s) that align JOSI’s efforts with the organization’s goals; ensure alignment of people, processes, and strategies to drive execution of business objectives.
  • Lead and/or sponsor continuous improvement initiatives to constantly improve performance.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring in accordance with JENOPTIK core values. Train, motivates, and manages performance to create a high-achieving team.
  • Direct, review and monitor direct reports to accomplish established manufacturing and operations goals.
  • Review operating results of the department, compare them to established objectives, and develop plans to ensure continuous improvement in all functions. When necessary, take steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.
  • Develop the manufacturing plan and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products and programs are delivered on time with the highest level of quality and meet or exceed JOSI’s profit targets.
  • Serves as a Key Member of the JENOPTIK Crisis Management Team
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Long Description

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or similar field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations; and at least 5 years of manufacturing operations leadership. Track record of success improving cost management, inventory management, supply chain management, quality, and delivery.
  • Experience managing an operations business with revenues of at least $25 million annually.
  • Proven success with measurable performance improvement programs. Has successfully implemented Lean/Six Sigma techniques or similar business systems.
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
  • Has the experience, knowledge, and tools to drive performance management and culture change.  He/she must be accomplished at targeting and achieving results.
  • Proven experience successfully moving NPI products from engineering to production.
  • Working knowledge of financial management including project and process control and indirect budgets; managing facility projects. Ability to create, track and meet schedules.
  • Experience with ISO9001and ISO13485.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management.
  • Knowledge of appropriate software applications and effectively use specialty software, including MS Office.  Experience with SAP or other like ERP systems preferred.
  • Must be able to travel 25 percent of the time.
