Facilities Custodial Technician

OVERVIEW:
The Facility Custodial Technician, organizes, monitors, and sustains all facility cleanliness activities and operations; ensures a safe, clean environment for all employees; performs a variety of maintenance tasks relative to facility upkeep. Performs various safety and research duties as assigned by the Safety Officer.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):
- Performs general, routine custodial duties, to include dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and restocking paper and soap supplies.
- Expanded duties include Contamination Controlled manufacturing environment upkeep.
- Working within an ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) controlled, manufacturing environment
- Performs routine restocking and tracking of custodial equipment and supplies.
- Empties trash receptacles, recycling vessels, and designates waste stream for proper disposal.
- Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors with access to areas for cleaning and may answer basic questions.
- Report issues and process gaps to supervisor.
- Chemical and waste stream management.
- Basic understanding of AC systems, chiller systems, compressor systems.
- Basic understanding of LP Air System piping and plumbing.
- Will be required to enter and access data using computer spreadsheets.
- 24/7 Emergency Response Availability
REQUIREMENTS:
- US Citizen or Legal US Resident
- 3 Years Facility Maintenance Experience
- Ability to understand and execute verbal instructions.
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
- Ability to operate vacuums and other related equipment.
- Experience with the use of cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Experience with the use of hand and power tools applicable to job.
- Ability to lift and manipulate objects up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and sustain safety procedures.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong English comprehension and writing skills.
