The Bid Writer will be responsible for the total end to end process of receiving a bid, researching and preparing documents to respond to this bid and entering a successful bid into the order entry system.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):
- Providing support to the sales team to manage and co‐ordinate the technical and commercial quote and/or bid packages.
- Liaises with both the sales and technical teams, as well as other relevant teams, to bring together the relevant information.
- Performs a detailed review of enquiry documents to enable full understanding of requirements.
- Ensures all requirements are identified for inclusion or qualification.
- Clarify, correct or negotiate change to proposal requirements during the early stages of review.
- Solicits internal input in regards to resources and process requirements, operational impact and scheduling considerations.
- Prepares cost model calculations to thoroughly analyze the cost information for quotes/proposals
- Edits and prepares quotes/proposals submissions.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (CONTINUED):
- Works with sales managers and contract specialist for proper contract Terms & Conditions agreement.
- Where required, meets with clients for bid meetings or presentations.
- Makes Bid/No Bid recommendations to the Leadership Team.
- Keeps Sales procedures and internal bidding tools up to date.
- Undertakes various sales/marketing initiatives as directed by management.
- Reports to Management and Sales team on proposals status and workload planning.
- Managing the communication, participation and responsiveness of the organization.
- Leads proposal teams under pressure to tight deadlines.
- Provides presentations to Senior Leadership team and SOC on as needed basis.
- Provides producing and tracking of timely output of Bids and Proposals.
- Prepares and publishes active summary progress reports.
- Enters successful bids into order entry system SAP
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years in technical/engineering discipline and/or sales/marketing discipline with aptitude for technical subjects
- Proficient in proposal management techniques and co-ordination
- Expert in proposal writing, editing and formatting, preferably for government customers.
- Flexibility, versatility, and comfort level for working with multiple individuals and personalities.
- Excellent time management and organization skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in all standard office software tools such as MS Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness and capability to travel domestic or international as/when required
- US Citizenship or Qualified U.S. Worker
