Technical Product Owner
The Technical Product Owner is responsible for defining and prioritising the requirements of our product. Working closely with our software, hardware, AI and algorithm teams, the TPO is the technical lead of the overall solution and the choreographer to our final product.
Working closely with the Product Managers, you’ll ensure that the product aligns with the company’s overall vision and strategy. Serving as product ambassador both internally and externally, sharing knowledge and answering questions, you’ll manage the product backlog and ensure the development team has a clear understanding of the product requirements. You’ll be the first point of contact for questions from the business, deriving the technical roadmap based on the functional requirements, displaying technical leadership while making high-level design choices. A dynamic role, exploring further technical opportunities and competitive advantage for Jenoptik.

Hybrid – Watchmoor Park, Camberley / Home
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Crafting the technical roadmap based on functional requirements.
- Prioritization of the backlog, planning of releases and ensuring seamless collaboration between internal and external employees.
- Create and maintain internal software design documentation, coding standards and frameworks.
- Addressing technical innovations and new solution approaches.
- Coordination of outsourcing services.
- Produce estimates for projects and further developments in consultation with the team.
- Conducting user research and data-driven monitoring of product performance and use.
- Evaluating new technologies and processes.
- Coordinate definition of System API, with migration of legacy features to new API and cross-product collaboration.
About you:
- Degree in Computer Science or Engineering and experience in software development and/or as a product owner.
- Adept in Software Architecture, Agile Software Development, C++ and Python in an embedded environment, Linux, and Requirements Management.
- Good understanding of hardware, AI and algorithms would be a significant benefit.
- Experience in technical leadership of teams.
- Enthusiasm for teamwork and technical innovation.
- Good understanding of business value related to features and functions.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, coaching and challenging those around you.
