Project Manager – R&D
As Project Manager will be responsible for delivery of our project portfolio, aligned with product roadmaps. You’ll support cross-function to ensure our projects are delivered in a timely manner, to specification and budget. With an emphasis on clear and concise communication of important milestones, and any variations from specification or program, you’ll help ensure our projects are delivered to a high specification, allowing us to maintain a competitive edge in our field.
About You
The ideal candidate should have a demonstrable background in delivering quality projects, with a full understanding of waterfall and agile methodologies. You’ll have excellent organisational and communication skills; capable of clearly communicating technical matters to stakeholders, be able to work independently and to tight timescales while managing multiple tasks, prioritising and budgeting effectively. You’ll be a dynamic critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills to handle any issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
Candidates and will be required to successfully obtain security clearance.

Core responsibilities
- Support pre-project phases to verify project requirements with key stakeholders, considering delivery timelines and budget constraints.
- Develop detailed project plans to guide clients and project teams to balance changing needs and requirements within the project lifecycle.
- Liaise effectively cross-function to provide regular progress reports to the Head of Project Management.
- Ongoing monitoring of project performance and costs to ensure timely delivery, within budget.
- Identifying and assigning project tasks, utilizing experience, skills, and strengths of wider Jenoptik team members.
- Risk management: identification and evaluation of project risks and coordination of appropriate measures.
- Working effectively with relevant stakeholders by understanding the customer’s project objectives, and cross-departmental hurdles.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the organization's technical products, services and processes.
- Continuously exploring opportunities for Jenoptik by improving processes and creative solutions to serve customer needs, as well as maintaining a competitive advantage in the industry.
Desired skills and experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience in Project Management.
- PRINCE2 Qualification would be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office-tools and MS-Project.
- Experience of using JIRA and Confluence would be preferable.
- Understanding of artificial intelligence analytics, video analytics, ANPR, object detection, tracking and recognition.
- Familiarity with traffic safety regulations, road infrastructure, and transportation systems.
- Ability to both challenge and inspire, working alongside multiple stakeholders, both cross-function and on a global level.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to motivate others, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
