As our growth continues, we are looking to hire an experienced ROBOTIC SIMULATION SPECIALIST.

The purpose of the Robotic Simulation Engineer/Specialist is to provide support to the Process Engineering group to validate processes as well as the Robotics group to supply off-line programs for machine start-up and development.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Possess a thorough knowledge of robot programming and motion planning.
  • Will be competent with most robotic manufacturer’s equipment (Fanuc, ABB, Motoman, Nachi, Kuka).
  • Will be performing robot simulations and offline programming using Delmia simulation software primarily. Other software packages like Fanuc RoboGuide may also be used to a lesser extent.
  • Understands I/O structures, robot start-up, and fieldbus networks.
  • Arrange and provide direction to contracted simulation companies as necessary based on internal capacity constraints.
  • Responsible for all programming activities as well as assisting robotic tasks to completion.
  • Participate in meetings for tooling design and development and work with the mechanical design, Process, Robotics and Sales Group.
  • Possess a thorough overall understanding of welding (mig, spot, and projection).
  • Responsible for managing hours of work performed against budgets assigned to the project.
  • Basic understanding of Solidworks or other CAD software.
  • Will be performing simulation studies and tasks including,
    • Gun/torch studies (selection and positioning)
    • Robot reach studies
    • Gun/torch access and gun/torch clouds
    • Perform dynamic interference analysis and reach verification
    • Weld balancing, distribution, and sequence
    • Capital layout validation
    • Cycle time analysis and validation
    • Safety zone (Virtual limiting) offline setup and safety audit sheets for validation purposes
    • OLP creation and validation including
      • Robot motion paths
      • Weld seam identification, labelling and programming
      • Resistance weld labelling and programming
    • Adding kinematics to imported models
    • Preparing customer documentation including AVI’s
    • Create Robot Data Sheets (RDS)

 

Robotic Simulation Specialist Key Professional Attributes:

  • Engineering Degree or Engineering Technologist/Technician in Robotics, or related field of study and/or equivalent industry experience.
  • 5 plus years of practical experience in robotic programming in an online and offline environment using simulation software such as Fanuc RoboGuide.
