Production Coordinator

As our growth continues, Prodomax Automation Ltd. is looking to hire an experienced Production Coordinator.
Located in Barrie, Ontario, we are a specialized industrial engineering firm focused on designing complex automation with a blue-chip customer base. Operating from two facilities totaling 200,000 square feet with 200+ employees; we are ISO 9001:2015 certified.
JENOPTIK our parent company, is an integrated photonics company that employs approximately 4,000 people with representatives in over 80 countries and operates in three photonic-based divisions: Light and Optics, Light and Production and Light and Safety.

Are you an experienced Production Coordinator looking for an opportunity to take your career to the next level? Do you have experience working in a machining, welding, or tooling environment (specifically automotive)? Do you have a passion for production analytics and process improvement?
If you answered YES to these questions our Production Coordinator position might be the perfect fit for you! In this role, you will report directly to the Production Manager.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Assisting the Production Manager with overseeing daily production activities
- Ensuring compliance with all organizational standards, safety, policies, and legal regulations
- Assist Production Manager in overseeing employee activities to ensure safe and efficient work operations.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Team Leads, and employees.
- Analyze production and quality metrics and make recommendations for process improvement.
- Make necessary adjustments to ensure productivity targets are met.
- Inspect and monitor equipment to ensure all are in good working order.
- Provide direction and leadership to all leads.
- Effectively lead, train, and develop leads to help them attain their goals.
- Use of computer systems to track and analyze data.
- Create Reports using IFS - Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Tool
Key Accountabilities:
- Health & Safety
- Operate in accordance with required health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Maintain Production Best Practice Database and Workflows
- Support the Production Manager in the implementation and maintenance of best practice production strategies, processes, and procedures to support and improve business performance.
- Maintain Build and Development Status Workbooks
- Use Excel workbooks to track percentage complete on project build and development.
- Drive improvements of the tool to reflect projects scope of work.
- Continuous Improvement
- Work with the Production Manager and Quality Manger to implement changes to increase productivity and profitability.
- Up-grade and Maintain Costing Tools
- Use Excel to generate quoting tools for various production activities.
- Interact with Multiple Teams
- Work closely with the projects team to understand details of project resourcing requirements.
- Project Future Needs
- Strategize with multiple departments to ensure the company’s future needs will be seamlessly met.
- Research
- Evaluate and compare products and services to determine which best meet the company’s needs.
- Travel
- Domestic and international travel is required.
Experience and Technical Skills:
- Minimum 5+ years direct working experience automation integration
- Engineering Degree or Engineering Technician/Technologist Diploma is required.
- Certificate of Qualification for one of the following trades: General Machinist, Tool & Die Maker, Mold Maker, or Millwright would be considered an asset.
- Good understanding of other project disciplines
- Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements.
- Proven project management and build quality experience.
- Knowledge and technical understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes and techniques
- Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders and suppliers.
- Resilient, self-motivated, and able to work well under pressure.
- Skilled using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)Tool, prefferably IFS
- Skilled using EXCEL, Office Suite and Power Point
