Mechanical Design Specialist

The Senior Mechanical Designers will provide systems and service layouts to the Production Team and also collaborate with a Team of Mechanical Design Leads. Prodomax supports growth within our Team Members and promotes from within whenever possible – our current team of Mechanical Design Leads will attest to that!

Key Accountabilities:
- Prepare detailed jig and machine design concepts using part data and GDT drawings
- Specify appropriate purchased components for mechanical assemblies
- Produce machine design models, drawings and bills of materials for equipment, sub-assemblies or product, using Solidworks 3D solid modeling software
- Analyze designs and systems for compliance to applicable standards (i.e. OSHA, CSA or customer specific)
- Manage and interface with outside design contractors
- Perform load and stress calculations if required
- Mentor and lead junior designers
Key Professional Attributes:
- Engineering Degree or Engineering Technician/Technologist Diploma
- 5 - 8+ years of direct working experience with automated welding and assembly equipment
