Machinist - Afternoon Shift

As our growth continues, we are looking to hire an Senior Machinist – Afternoon Shift to join our team.

Located in Barrie, Ontario, Prodomax Automation Ltd. is a specialized industrial engineering firm focused on designing complex automation with a blue-chip customer base. Operating from two facilities totaling 200,000 square feet with 200+ employees; we are ISO 9001:2015 certified.

As a Senior General Machinist, you will be responsible for manufacturing components in a machine shop environment and will report directly to the Machine Shop Lead. The hours for the afternoon shift will be 3:30 pm to 2:00 am, Monday to Thursday.  Shift premium will apply.

Senior Machinist Key Accountabilities:

• Read and interpret drawings and determine work and/or repair procedures
• Set up and operate to prescribe tolerances on lathes, mills, surface grinders, and saws
• Select mechanical measuring, checking and layout tools and devices
• Execute measuring, checking and layout operations
• Perform metal removing operations using hand and power cutting tools
• Fit and assemble parts and sub-assemblies to build special-purpose machinery
• Some heavy lifting
• Mentor and lead Apprentices, Junior, and Intermediate Machinists

Education: 

• Completion of an apprenticeship program for Machinist and holds a General Machinist 429A Certificate of Qualification

Senior Machinist Key Professional Attributes:

• Minimum 5+ years direct working experience
• The ability to Set up, program and operate ACU-RITE NC knee milling machines is an asset.
• HAAS CNC set up and operation is an asset.
