Software Engineer (.NET) - Containerization, CI/CD & Cloud Delivery
Bangalore, KA, IN
Job Description:
IMPORTANT: Who This Role Is (and Is NOT) For
- NOT for Pure Feature Developers: If your daily workflow ends at git push and you rely on an ops team to build containers, set up local databases, or write deployment pipelines, please do not apply.
- NOT for Infrastructure-Only / Cloud Support Admins: If you only manage Azure portals or Terraform and have never compiled C# code via CLI or written a Dockerfile, please do not apply.
- WHO SHOULD APPLY: Engineers with solid C# .NET fundamentals who actively own application builds, Dockerfiles, docker-compose environments, and automated Azure CI/CD pipelines.
We are seeking a Software Engineer (.NET) – Containerization, CI/CD & Cloud Delivery to bridge the gap between software development and automated cloud delivery.
In this role, you will work directly with our engineering teams to pull application source code, resolve .NET and Node.js dependencies, build services from the CLI, author optimized multi-stage Docker containers, configure local multi-service environments (docker-compose), and automate end-to-end CI/CD delivery targeting Microsoft Azure.
Responsibilities:
- Build Engineering & CLI Workflows: Take ownership of source code across C# .NET and Node.js repositories. Resolve dependencies, troubleshoot build failures, and execute CLI-based builds and packaging (dotnet build, npm run build).
- Local Environment & Docker Strategy: Author, optimize, and maintain production-grade multi-stage Dockerfiles. Maintain docker-compose environments so developers can run multi-tier services and databases locally with a single command.
- CI/CD Pipeline Automation: Design and maintain declarative YAML pipelines in Azure DevOps to automate compilation, testing, container scanning, and zero-downtime releases for backend services and React frontends.
- Platform, AKS & Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Treat infrastructure like software. Build and maintain Azure environments and manage container orchestration within Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM.
- Security First (DevSecOps): Integrate security checks into the delivery pipeline—including static code analysis (SAST), container vulnerability scans, dependency audits, and Azure Key Vault secret management.
- Performance, Reliability & SRE: Optimize microservice communication and messaging (RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus). Implement monitoring and telemetry (Application Insights, Prometheus, Grafana) and diagnose build breaks, container networking issues, and runtime crashes.
- Developer Tooling & Standardization: Define, document, and standardize developer environments, bridging the gap between local workstations and cloud production.
Qualifications, skills & abilities
Qualifications
- Experience: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, with 5–8 years of experience in Software Engineering with a proven focus on containerization, build automation, and CI/CD.
- C# .NET Ecosystem Literacy: Strong hands-on understanding of C#, .NET Core/8+, project dependencies (.csproj, NuGet), and CLI build tools (dotnet). Familiarity with Node.js and basic awareness of React build processes.
- Container Mastery (Non-Negotiable): Hands-on experience writing multi-stage Dockerfiles from scratch (layer caching, non-root users) and orchestrating multi-container setups using docker-compose.
- CI/CD & Cloud Delivery (MS Azure): Proven experience creating and maintaining declarative YAML pipelines in Azure DevOps, deploying containerized applications to Azure (AKS / Container Apps), and provisioning via Terraform or Bicep.
- Orchestration & Scripting: Experience with Kubernetes (AKS) deployments and services, combined with scripting proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Git Proficiency: Advanced Git CLI skills (branching strategies, hooks, conflict resolution).
- The Automation Mindset: A strong dislike for manual intervention. If a deployment or setup task is done twice, you script it.
We offer competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and a dynamic and inclusive work environment. If you are excited about this opportunity and believe you have the skills and passion to succeed, we would love to hear from you.
