Machine Build Lead

OVERVIEW:
The Build Leader is responsible for the planning, coordination and implementation for the build of assigned projects of both automated tooling and full line automated assembly systems. The Build Leader will work hands on during the build while overseeing the work performed on his/her project to ensure the project is on-time completion, to the customer specifications, and his/her issues are communicated with the rest of the project team and project management.

The employees assigned to the Build Leader could change from project to project and include a combination of internal colleagues or external contractors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILIITIES (Include but not limited to):
 Participate in mechanical design reviews and project meetings to present feedback and project build issues.
 Review released drawings from engineering for material planning and questions. Submit request for shop supplied material to the Assembly Shop Manager.
 Assemble and oversee the assembly of project related fixtures are built to industry, Jenoptik and customer standards.
 Coordinate with Electrical and Pipe project team members.
 Coordinate with Assembly Shop Manager, Design Leaders and Project Manager to configure tools and system layout.
 Provide recommendations on team size and performance to the Assembly Shop Manager.
 Ensure project milestones are maintained.
 Provide updates and input for project open issues lists.
 Fill out and audit build quality checklists.
 Develop tooling for product fit-up and functionality.
 Oversee projects to successful buyoff with the customer.
 Must demonstrate proven leadership skills including the ability to be assertive and handle conflict effectively.
 Track deliverables and purchased components for on time delivery.
 Lead and support installation of the system at the customer site.
 Provide feedback to project management for ECN’s.
 Perform other duties as assigned.

KEY DELIVERABLES:
 Report build progress on assigned project(s) to project management and management team.
 Tools and system built per design intent.
 Tool certification reports.
 Tooling adjustments for build of quality product.
 Completed and validated build quality checklist.
 Functioning system per customer specifications.
 Achievement of all project performance and timeline milestones.

Key qualifications:

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
 Experience building automation tooling and building to NAAMS standards.
 Understanding of how to adjust weld tooling for good product quality.
 Must own your own tools.
 Ability to weld, fabricate and machine part details is a plus.
 Ability to travel for business both domestically and internationally
