Quality Assurance Technician I

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

  • Performs in-process and/or final quality control (QC) checks using measuring, inspection and test equipment. Will perform tests procedures, visual/mechanical inspections and documentation review as part of the verification of parts, components and final assemblies.
  • Provides back-up support for QC Material Inspection/Metrology functions (IQC/IPQC).
  • Collects, organizes and reviews End Item Data Packages (EIDP) per customer and company requirements.
  • Verifies data records to assure compliance with specifications, standards and procedural requirements.
  • Verifies that the acceptance criteria have been meet prior to product release.
  • Performs various document and data control and maintenance functions as assigned by Quality Management.
  • Review and process documentation to meet company standards and customer requirements.
  • Supports the introduction of or improvements to processes and procedures in support of the QMS.
  • Maintains Key Process Indicators (KPI) metrics and reports in support of Quality goals & objectives.
  • Assist Quality Engineering in the investigation, root cause analysis and implementation of Corrective and Preventive action (CAPA), customer complaints and non-conforming materials.
  • May have authority to ship finished product as assigned by Quality Management.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum High School or GED diploma. Some college in a technical field of study; or appropriate/proven equivalent experience.
  • 1 year of experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment with knowledge of ISO 9001; Medical device industry experience highly desirable (ISO 13485). Optics, image processing industry is a plus.
  • 1 year of experience understanding and utilizing; inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, drop and dial indicators, etc.) to measure physical dimensions from engineering drawings and specification requirements.
  • Must be a team player, willing to work additional hours as needed and be flexible to support other departments.
  • Keen attention to compliance and details, along with the ability to comprehend directions and learn quickly.
  • Organized and process oriented.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Capable math skills a must. Able to measure and calculate dimensions in both metric and English units.
  • Expertise in dealing with people effectively and politely
  • Computer proficiency; including Microsoft Word and Excel; Business applications experience is beneficial.
